(Dallas, TX) January 27, 2017 – Today, Dallas Purple Foundation announced it donated $90,000 in 2016 to local Dallas organizations to help support people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and to improve the overall quality of life, health, and wellness of the Dallas LGBT community. In its 15 years, Purple Foundation has been able to exponentially increase its contributions, resulting in more than $750,000 in donations to beneficiaries including Resource Center, AIDS Services of Dallas, and Legacy Counseling Center.

“We are so happy to be able to mark the end of our anniversary year with our largest donation to date,” said Blake Baker, Purple Foundation President. “Programs and organizations like those we support face many obstacles in finding the funding necessary to continue vital programming. Today it is more imperative than ever to stay true to our founding mission.”

This donation caps off the organization’s busiest and most successful year, as well as its 15th anniversary. Purple Foundation celebrated its anniversary in grand style, drawing in thousands of visitors from across the globe to revel in its most highly attended Purple Party® Weekend to date. The organization also saw record numbers flock to its three-day September Purple Pride celebration, as well as its quarterly Spin and Score parties. In addition to this year’s record donation, Purple Foundation sponsored events across the city including No Tie Dinner, Be An Angel, 5 Factor, Toast to Life, Gay Bingo, and more.

“Purple has been a long-standing partner of ours for many years,” said Don Maison of ASD. “We value the work they do and have found their support to be an integral part of our fundraising and planning efforts. We look forward to applying these donations to real programs that make a true difference in the lives of so many.”

Purple Foundation recently announced details for its 2017 signature event, Purple Party Weekend in Dallas. The event, happening April 27 to May 1, will bring guests from across the globe and will feature world class talent. For more information, visit
