Each year Purple Party heats up the dance floor of S4 with its Ignite party, setting the mood and energy of the weekend. This year we are thrilled to have Purple alumni DJs Eddie Martinez and Benson Wilder set Friday night on fire. Plus, singing sensation, Brian Crum will be performing in the Rose Room. Don’t forget those fans, it’s gonna get hot in S4 on Friday!
Eddie’s unique style and his ability to connect with the crowd has allowed him to capture larger audiences everywhere he spins. Equally talented as a producer and DJ, Eddie has remixed tracks for today’s hottest artists including Rihanna, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Celine Dion. His own original productions—including his two LPs, “Hybrid” and “Foreplay”—have wowed audiences and soared on the charts and in the clubs. Eddie has played for Purple Foundation events twice before and quickly became a favorite.
Inspired by New York’s underground club scene, Eddie began his DJ career at the age of 20. He got his start by playing at lounges and bars across the city, before making his way to Fire Island where his DJ career kicked off, becoming a resident at the famous Pavilion Night Club at the age of 21. Eddie has spun globally in places such as Asia, Brazil, Mexico, South America, Canada, and all around the United States with residencies in several major cities including New York, Miami, and Los Angeles. He has played events such as, NYC Pride, Toronto World Pride, Vancouver Pride, San Francisco Pride, The Black Party, Winter Party, White Party Miami, Purple Party, Revolution Brazil, PAPA Party, and more.
Opening for Eddie is Dallas-based Benson Wilder. He was also introduced to New York’s music and club scene as a teen and has been in the DJ game for over 10 years. His eclectic, energetic sound blends the worlds of circuit, club, and house music, delivering pulsating rhythms, soaring vocals, and flat-out dirty beats. Currently a resident DJ at The Dallas Eagle, where locals flock for his monthly MEAT party, Benson made his Purple debut in 2014 and has played for Purple’s Score and Dallas Pride events; and has also headlined events for Splash Days, Furball NYC, Honey Pot, and others.
Singer and heartthrob, Brian Crum will make his Dallas debut with a special performance in the Rose Room Friday night. Brian sang his way into the hearts of millions after appearing on the 11th season of America’s Got Talent, where he finished fourth. A Broadway –theater –trained performer, Crum’s pop vocals won the judges over and have continued to draw in crowds to his live appearances across the country, especially those supporting the LGBT community.
S4 is the largest gay nightclub in the south. The venue offers a huge dance floor with amazing lighting and sound, a spacious patio for socializing, and the famous drag bar—The Rose Room—which draws crowds from across the city and state. Ignite will light the fire that will keep you dancing all weekend.
