Purple Foundation returns to Dallas Pride Weekend with a lineup that will be sure to spark your soul and set your feet dancing. Pride is a time to come together in solidarity and honor all our unique differences, and we have no doubt you’ll want to celebrate with us—all while benefiting the local Dallas community.
Dallas in September can be known for searing temperatures. Come cool down with us and SHINE Saturday, September 15, 1 pm – 7 pm, at SISU Uptown. SISU is a favorite fixture in our venue lineup with its gorgeous saltwater pool and deluxe cabanas. DJ Brandon Moses (Dallas) will keep you popping your fan to his unique style of vocal-infused dance music. Then, just when you thought it couldn’t get any hotter, DJ Ben Baker (NYC) will take over the decks and close the party down with his fresh take on house and classic vocals.
DJ Ben Baker (NYC)
PAPA World Tour's resident NYC DJ, Baker has performed alongside international stars such as Isaac Escalante, Tomer Maizner, Oscar G., Micky Friedmann, Ana Paula, Paulo Pacheco, and Hector Fonseca. In the past year Baker has worked the crowds at Arena Festival (Playa del Carmen), Papa World Tour (NYC Resident DJ), Circuit Breaker @ Babel (Guadalajara), Rage (Mexico City), Heretic (Atlanta), Xion (Atlanta), XL (NYC), EGO (Providence), Erotika (Toronto), Prism World Pride (Toronto), Griffin Sundays (NYC), and Irving Plaza (NYC)
Ben Baker is the new face on the East Coast music scene, and he has acquired the credibility that experienced crowds demand.
DJ Brandon Moses (Dallas)
Brandon’s unique style of vocal-infused dance music is very much a product of his past experiences as a professional musician. Starting in fourth grade, Brandon sang in his school and church choirs and continued to sing all the way through his years at his University. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in music education, Brandon taught middle school choir for six years. “I love to sing. It’s always been a huge part of my life. When I’m spinning, you’ll often see me singing along.”This aspiring DJ started releasing podcasts in 2008. After gaining a small group of fans that encouraged him to keep putting out more mixes, Brandon was soon DJing live at small venues throughout the Dallas area. This soon led to a residency at The Tin Room and the Drama Room.
In October of 2010, Brandon left his residencies and concentrated on private events and parties. He has become a sought after DJ for several charitable organizations in the Dallas area. The Purple Foundation has invited him to spin at the main event of The Purple Party three years in a row. He has spun the Dallas Red Party twice, The Lambda Legal White Party in Dallas, the Toast to Life Reception for the Dallas Resource Center, and the official Black Tie Dinner After Party. His favorite charity event was a private Christmas party in which the attendees were required to bring a teddy bear to donate to Children’s Medical Center. In addition to charitable events in Dallas, Brandon’s talent has reached further abroad. Now three years in a row, it is safe to say he is the resident DJ at the Portofino Island Resort in Pensacola Beach for Memorial Day weekend. Brandon has also played two years in a row for the Telluride Gay Ski Week in Telluride, CO.
“I’m extremely excited about what the future holds,” said Brandon. “I have big dreams, and an even bigger passion for dancing and music. It gives me great joy to see friends having fun on the dance floor, with smiles on their faces. It’s really quite simple…I love music, I love to dance, and I love making people happy. What could be better than being a DJ?”
